During the season I never have a rest. I always play and by the end of the season I have played 60 games with tired legs and injured shoulders, then I arrive at a major tournament with a big risk of something bad happening. So if you go to the Nazionale like this and get injured again, all would say” why didn’t you stay at home?” In short, it’s never alright. I have taken a decision and I have made a choice for myself. I have tried my best and given all. I’ve arrived at a point where my health has to come first. I’ve had so many injuries. I still want to play at the highest possible level. Otherwise I will stop, and go home.”
The companions in the Nazionale-I have a fantastic relationship with them. We have had joys together and had sufferings together. So Cannavaro, Buffon, Zambrotta and all others, I will always remember them with great pleasure and I’ve had the fortune to play together with these extraordinary players and
spectacular human beings.”
The world cup for clubs- “In December we will have this tournament in Tokyo. It’s one of the most important trophies left, to me, and to my companions, in our career. We have won a lot, but still this Intercontinental title is not in our glass showcase; we have to bring it to home to make the glass showcase indeed showcase of true quality.”
